Desiree Lynch, a California Council candidate in Stockton, was arrested this morning amid a corruption investigation. The San Joaquin County District Attorney's Office states she faces five felony charges, including three counts of perjury, false voter registration, and false filing for candidacy. Investigators say Lynch registered to vote and filed her candidacy using addresses of places she did not live. She announced last week that she would withdraw from the election but later said she intended to stay in the race. Lynch is out on bond.
