The role belongs to Reina Ueda, whose resume features major turns as REZE, Chinatsu, Cha Hae-in, Kanao Tsuyuri, Miyo Saimori, Ganyu, Sparkle, Scarlet, and Rosa. Ueda describes Bai Niangniang as a mysterious girl whose identity and purpose are both shrouded in mystery, noting she is quite difficult to get a read on. Because of that complexity, the actor plans to carefully approach the part. Ueda admitted to feeling nervous before her first recording session, but the experience quickly shifted. She found the interactions between Maomao and the others, along with the broader world of the series, to be so enjoyable that she became engrossed as a viewer. According to Ueda, the balance between serious and comedic moments is exquisite. She believes Season 3 will provide an enjoyable peek into part of Maomao and the others' daily lives.
