@vitor.gamedayThe history of video games began with a simple tennis match called Tennis for Two. Physicist William Higinbotham created this at Brookhaven National Laboratory in 1958 using an analog computer and an oscilloscope to simulate the trajectory of a tennis ball. Players controlled the game using custom-built controllers while viewing the action on an OSCILLOSCOPE TYPE 304 screen that displayed PLAYER 1 and PLAYER 2 options alongside a red POWER ON light. Zero copies of Tennis for Two were sold and zero revenue was generated because it was created as a scientific demonstration for visitors rather than as a commercial product. This tiny experiment is considered one of the most important milestones in gaming history, paving the way for the multibillion-dollar video-game industry we know today. 68 years have passed since the creation of Tennis for Two.

The focus is on an early video game console, "Tennis for Two," displayed on an oscilloscope screen. The game shows a simple green line representing a tennis court with a ball in mid-air, and a black and white photo of a man in the background. The mood is historical and educational, highlighting a piece of technological history. A notable detail is the "POWER ON" light which is illuminated red. ON-SCREEN TEXT: TENNIS FOR TWO, OSCILLOSCOPE TYPE 304, TENNIS FOR TWO, PLAYER 1, PLAYER 2.
