    Largest Lead-Producing Countries 2023

@timofeyWorld Mining Data 2025 has the receipts on contained lead (Pb) mine production for 2023, measured in metric tonnes, and the top of the table is not close. China put out 1,960,000 tonnes, which the dataset pegs at 41.66% of the reported global total. Australia follows at 472,242 tonnes, then Mexico at 373,609 tonnes, Peru at 273,335 tonnes, the United States at 263,000 tonnes, India at 226,400 tonnes and Russia at 220,000 tonnes. Iran comes in at 103,100 tonnes, Bolivia at 102,927 tonnes, Türkiye at 69,230 tonnes, Sweden at 65,570 tonnes, Kazakhstan at 45,900 tonnes, North Macedonia at 43,930 tonnes, Nigeria at 41,500 tonnes, South Africa at 40,271 tonnes, Tajikistan at 37,809 tonnes and Cuba at 35,000 tonnes. Argentina, Poland and Morocco close out the twenty at 29,780, 29,510 and 26,310 tonnes respectively, and together those countries accounted for about 94.79% of the lead production recorded in the dataset for 2023. Context worth keeping: lead is an industrial metal that goes into lead-acid batteries, radiation shielding, ammunition and construction products, and most of what gets mined shows up alongside zinc, silver and other metals in polymetallic ore deposits rather than from dedicated lead operations. The publication says its database is compiled from national statistics and other official sources, with estimates used where production data are unavailable. #Finance

The image focuses on a man in a hard hat holding a piece of lead ore in front of a mining operation. The overall mood is informative and industrial, presenting data about the largest lead-producing countries in the world for 2023. A notable detail is the man's safety vest and the large mining equipment in the background.
