@oldhollywoodcapMahershala Ali's blunt take on director credit cuts a different shape when you look at what Bassam Tariq went through. Marvel reportedly told filmmakers their projects were "This is a Marvel film directed by a person" while also warning that shots could get cropped and other changes might happen. Ali's response was sharp, noting simply that "Your name might not matter." The situation hits harder knowing Tariq spent around a year and a half developing BLADE before eventually leaving the project. He and Ali later reunited for YOUR MOTHER YOUR MOTHER YOUR MOTHER, where Tariq had much more room to shape the film around his own ideas. #MahershalaAli
