Engineers have activated what they're calling the world's first wind-powered underwater data center off the coast of Shanghai. Positioned about 10 meters below the surface in the Lingang Special Zone, the facility leverages the surrounding ocean as a natural coolant, reducing energy consumption. The system is linked to above-water wind turbines, creating a seamless renewable energy loop.
