Paul Dirac said, "I found the best ideas usually came, not when one was actively striving for them, but when one was in a more relaxed state." This is from his piece "Methods in Theoretical Physics," included in the book From a Life of Physics, which was a special supplement of the IAEA Bulletin based on lectures given in Trieste in 1968.
