Most builders of AI agents haven't read the paper that actually fixed memory. The core problem is that RAG never had a temporal knowledge graph. Zep fills this gap as a temporal knowledge graph tracking what is true and when it was true. In Zep, old facts are timestamped and superseded rather than silently replaced.
