USA Basketball confirmed that Kiki Iriafen and Sonia Citron are stepping in for A'ja Wilson and Kelsey Plum on Team USA ahead of the 2026 FIBA Women's World Cup in Berlin, Germany. The switch happens because Wilson and Plum are unavailable due to health reasons. The Phoenix Mercury also announced that Plum will not play again in the 2026 WNBA season because of a lower leg injury. Iriafen and Citron happen to be teammates of Wilson and Plum at the Washington Mystics.
