Maybe the Insidious franchise has overstayed… or has it? PG-13 horror InsidiousOutoftheFurther, received with mixed C+ CinemaScore from audiences, is performing below previous instalment at US BoxOffice. Insidious6 grossed 1.3M on 2nd TUE Discount Day, harsh -57.1% drop from last TUE (vs Insidious5’s 2M, -42.6%). Even so, the franchise remains lucrative, hitting a 45.9M cume in just 12 days in the U.S. alone, over a 18M production price tag. Audiences might not enjoy it as before, but as long as the franchise remains a money maker, oh boy they will keep making more of it.
