Kota Ibushi is facing a reality check after his second femur surgery, admitting this marks the first time he has ever felt like giving up or losing to himself. He explains that for the past year or so, he has been living on medication typically prescribed to cancer patients, which means his condition isn't normal at all. A specialist urged him to have another surgery as soon as possible, and that pressure led directly to this procedure. Now, surprisingly, he was able to get out of the wheelchair in just one day, though he still can't move very well and has managed to start using crutches instead. Setting aside whether he'll make a comeback or not, the first question he asks himself is whether he can even become a normal person again. Given his age, he wants some time to think things through, but he's going to try to face the reality of his situation head-on. He notes that maybe it's only because of where he is right now, but he feels he needs to write down these thoughts regarding this surgery. Even though he doesn't know what the future holds, he remains grateful that he was able to wrestle professionally for 22 years.
