The call came while Maria Kanellis was still lying in a hospital bed back in October following her tumor removal surgery, and AEW offered to extend her contract by three months specifically so she could recover without losing coverage. she describes that extension as a blessing giving her the time needed to get back on her feet after the procedure. luckily Mike Bennett still held an active contract at the exact same time which meant she had those three full months to heal and remain under contract with the company while recovering.
