Julián Álvarez on meeting Messi in 2011

Julián Álvarez looked back on Lionel Messi and told a story that reads like it was scripted. The year was 2011, and he was a kid in Córdoba who went with his brothers to a hotel just to meet his idol. From that point on, the World Cups became the dream, and he even ran the numbers on when he might actually get to live them. Fast forward, and the two of them were sharing a locker room. Then they won the World Cup together, and Álvarez was right there helping Messi lift the trophy. He started as a boy posing for a picture with his hero, and ended up as his teammate and a world champion. Some scripts you just can't write.
