    Bulgaria Black Sea attack map

Two Turkish-owned vessels got targeted inside Bulgaria's special economic zone in the Black Sea, roughly 128 kilometers out from the coast. Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev labeled this an unacceptable attack and a blatant violation of international law and maritime law. The Togo-flagged Alfa Watan sustained critical structural damage and sank with no data on the crew status. Meanwhile the Palau-flagged Able caught fire while a Bulgarian ferry was evacuating everyone aboard. All 18 crew members on the Able were rescued but two suffered severe injuries and were transported to a hospital in Varna. These ships were likely en route to Ukraine under Bulgarian protection despite known risks. You have to wonder what cargo was worth such danger because no civilian owner would risk these voyages without solid government security guarantees. #Bulgaria
