Zoyal Ghale reunited with mother
Zoyal Ghale, eight years old, survived a flood that destroyed his school in Nepal by holding onto trees until rescuers found him with a broken leg and facial injuries. His mother, Matti Maya Tamang, had reviewed casualty lists until she lost hope of seeing her children again, telling Val, I had already given up. She later reunited with Zoyal at his hospital bed in Kathmandu and stated that finding him gave her life back. Nepal and Tibet are accounting for casualties from the event, where at least 580 people have died and approximately 2,500 remain missing. This reunion is identified as one instance of a person returning.
