    بواسطة Evira: Wellness

Hijama is basically controlled suction with tiny cuts to draw out blood and ease pain, no mysticism involved

People use hijama in an attempt to relieve pain and promote a sense of well-being. First, a cup is placed on the skin and suction pulls the skin upward, increasing blood flow near the surface. The cup is then removed and several small shallow incisions are made in the raised skin. Next, the cup is placed back over the same area and suction is applied again. This draws a small amount of blood and tissue fluid through the openings and into the cup. After several minutes, the cup is removed, the skin is cleaned, and the area is covered while the superficial cuts begin to heal. This practice is known as wet cupping and should be performed using sterile equipment to reduce the risk of infection.
