Wind turbine grid power

A wind turbine transforms the invisible power of moving air into electricity. When wind blows, it pushes against the large blades, causing them to spin. These blades are connected to a rotor, which turns a shaft inside the turbine. The spinning shaft transfers mechanical energy to a generator. Inside the generator, magnets and coils of wire move relative to each other, creating an electric current through electromagnetic induction. This electricity then travels through cables inside the tower and is sent to a transformer where the voltage is increased for efficient transportation through power lines. From there, it can reach homes, businesses and cities. The stronger and faster the wind, the more energy the turbine can produce, making wind power a clean and renewable source of electricity.
