After the Justice League was holding a routine meeting at the Watchtower, when suddenly Barry Allen appeared in terrible condition. He warned everyone that a civilian had bitten him, and something terrible was happening on Earth. Soon after, the League received a video of Constantine taking his own life while warning about a deadly virus spreading across the planet. Green Lantern rushed to Batman, begging him to save Barry, but Bruce refused. He believed it was already too late, and wanted to study the virus instead. Moments later, Barry transformed into a monster and attacking his own teammates. Hal ran back to Batman, but Flash moved first. In a split second, he ripped Bruce apart and left him dead. Green Lantern tried to use his ring, but Barry bit off his finger and swallowed the ring with it. Barely escaping through the ventilation system, Hal watched in horror as more League members became infected. While running through the watchtower, Batman's reanimated body attacked him, but Hal managed to fight it off. He couldn't stop thinking that even Batman had no plan for a disaster like this. Hal reached the teleportation tower, hoping to return to Earth and borrow Guy Gardner's ring. But by then, the infection had already started taking over his body. Realizing he had no time left, Hal made one final sacrifice. He charged back at Flash, ripped the ring from his stomach, and sacrificed himself by triggering a massive explosion that destroyed the Watchtower, stopping the zombie virus from spreading across the universe.
