JAXA just pulled off a clean RV-X hop test that ran about 40 seconds total. The rocket went up 11 meters, shifted sideways 16 meters, and touched down safely on July 11, 2026. Japan's pushing into the reusable rocket game right alongside the US and China. #JapanAerospaceExplorationAgency #Japan

After the US and China, Japan is now developing reusable rockets. JAXA recently tested its RVX experimental reusable rocket at the Noshiro Rocket Testing Centre. The small-scale rocket lifted off, moved horizontally while maintaining its altitude, and then landed safely. The test lasted about 40 seconds, reaching around 11 metres in altitude and travelling about 16 metres horizontally. The test is helping Japan develop the technology needed for future reusable rockets.
