Jamaal Howard was executed in Texas, the state's first since Christa Pike's lethal injection went wrong in Tennessee. Howard got the same drug Pike did. He didn't make it. Back in 2000, Howard shot and killed Vickie Swartout, a 42-year-old convenience store clerk, during a robbery. His legal team pointed to Pike's case in a bid to stop it.
