FaZe Banks on 2017 internet culture peak
بواسطة Tufail: SoundCloud
FaZe Banks insists that 2017 remains the absolute pinnacle of internet culture, a specific moment where nothing has felt quite as special since. The energy back then came from a massive convergence where streetwear giants like Supreme and Bape were exploding simultaneously with a giant SoundCloud renaissance and the rise of Viners and vloggers. All these distinct elements were flocking to LA at once, creating what he describes as an insane culture eruption in Los Angeles that was genuinely fun to exist within. A key part of that magic was that people hadn't yet understood the consequences of the internet, so there was still a willingness to just have fun and act like themselves without overthinking it. That lack of foresight is exactly why parties were fun and relationships felt authentic during that era, making everything feel very real rather than calculated. #SoundCloud

It's that 2017 era, like it was the pinnacle peak of like internet culture in my opinion. And I have some theories about this, but I don't know, man, it was, it was special. Like you, you had streetwear, like Supreme, Bape, all this shit kind of popping the fuck off Fairfax, Melrose, that shit was so live. It was so lit. And then you had music, it's like giant soundcloud Renaissance and all these guys popping up at the same time. And then you had us, the Viners and the vloggers and everybody, all of these things are happening at once and it's all flocking to LA and what it created was this insane, like just culture eruption in LA. It was so fun to be a part of. It was so fun to exist in. And I just, I don't think people understood the consequences of the internet yet. I think people were still ready to have fun and act like themselves. That's why I think parties were fun and relationships felt authentic and it just felt very real.
