WSEE is reporting nine people, including two children, are among the dead. We have not been able to independently confirm the number of dead at this hour, but there are witnesses saying that the suspect was seen firing a gun before entering a house Friday night, and a SWAT team did arrive there. You can see the video of that SWAT team there. They tried to get the man to surrender, but more shots were heard coming from inside that home. I want to be candid with our community. This is one of the most difficult and heartbreaking scenes our officers and investigators have ever encountered. The loss of life is devastating, and the circumstances we are working through are deeply disturbing. At this time, we can confirm that the suspect is deceased. Based on the information currently available to us, there is no ongoing threat to the public. Authorities say the shooter died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The identities of the victims have not been released, and there is no idea of the motive here at this time. All right, another night of protests in New York after ICE agents.
