Chk Chk Boom

Released on July 19, 2024, as the lead single from their ninth Korean-language EP Ate, "Chk Chk Boom" marked a distinct stylistic pivot for Stray Kids. The track blends the group's signature hip-hop foundation with Latin-influenced reggaeton rhythms driven by a dembow beat and sharp brass stabs. Members Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han, operating under the production name 3Racha, co-wrote the song alongside DallasK, Ronnie Icon, and BB Elliot. Restart also contributed to the production duties, helping shape the infectious groove that critics noted as a confident evolution of the group's sound.

The accompanying music video directed by Bang Jae-yeob became a focal point of the release strategy. It features a viral dance challenge centered on a shooting-hand gesture and gained global attention for a surprise cameo by Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. Both actors appeared in full costume as their Marvel characters Deadpool and Wolverine to promote the film Deadpool & Wolverine in South Korea. By early 2025, the video had surpassed 100 million views on YouTube.

Commercially, the single achieved immediate chart success. It debuted at number 49 on the US Billboard Hot 100, marking the group's second entry into the top 50 of that specific chart. In the United Kingdom, the song peaked at number 30 on the UK Singles Chart, while it reached number 18 on South Korea's Circle Digital Chart. The track also secured a gold certification from the French Syndicat National de l'Édition Phonographique (SNEP) for over 15 million streams in France, becoming the first fourth-generation K-pop boy group to receive this honor.
