عرضت أغنيته المنفردة الأولى 'Switch It Up' أسلوبه في آر أند بي، وتبعها بألبومات EP مثل 'SOMO:FUME' والألبوم الكامل لعام 2024 'Archive 1: [Road Runner]'. Jay B commands a devoted following known as GOT7land, a community that has evolved from supporting a boy band into championing the specific artistic autonomy of its leader. As the architect of GOT7's reunion after their group contract expired in 2021, Jay B secured the rights to the group name, a move that transformed him from a standard idol into a symbol of industry resilience. Fans credit this strategic maneuver with preserving the group's legacy, fostering a narrative where the leader and audience act as partners in the group's survival. His transition to independent work under the alias Def further deepened this bond, as followers mobilized for streaming campaigns supporting his solo albums Archive 1: [Road Runner] and TR.EE. The fandom is characterized by high organization, often initiating charity drives and maintaining a patient, long-term perspective on his career rather than fixating solely on chart metrics. While Jay B maintains a direct line of communication through social media, sharing poetry and personal reflections, the collective identity remains firmly tied to the group he leads. Despite his significant global reach and headlining status on tours such as Tape: Roots in North America, iFANN's Global Fame Engine evaluated this profile in August 2026 and determined that Jay B does not currently hold a placement in the published rankings. Consequently, no numeric rank or score is assigned to his standing within the Global Top 1,000 or any Top-100 scope list.[تعديل]

Before entering the music industry, Jay B was an active b-boy in the underground scene, performing under the name Defsoul; this dance background heavily influences the acrobatic choreography associated with GOT7. He produces music under the alias Def, which serves as an abbreviation for his former b-boy moniker. Known for his distinct fashion sense, he frequently designs or curates his own stage outfits, blending streetwear with high-fashion elements. Beyond performance, he enjoys photography and regularly shares his work on social media platforms. A defining chapter in his public history involves securing the rights to the GOT7 name after the group's contracts expired, a feat fans describe as saving the group from permanent disbandment. Another notable moment occurred when he left JYP Entertainment to join H1ghr Music, a pivot that shifted his public image from polished idol to gritty, independent R&B artist. This decision led to the release of his debut solo album, Archive 1: [Road Runner], cementing his reputation as a serious songwriter. More recently, news emerged regarding his 'Tape: Roots' tour in North America, highlighting his ability to headline major markets independently of the group context.[تعديل]

His primary income streams derive from GOT7 album sales, world tours, and merchandise, alongside revenue generated by his solo music releases and concert appearances. He also collects songwriting and production royalties for works attributed to GOT7, JJ Project, and his solo projects under the alias Def. Additional earnings are generated through acting roles, variety show appearances, and brand endorsements. Since departing JYP Entertainment, he has exercised greater control over his creative projects and financial management, a shift that likely contributed to his current financial standing.[تعديل]
