Moonlit Floor

On September 28, 2024, Lisa took the stage at New York City's Global Citizens Festival to debut a track that would soon redefine her solo trajectory. The performance of "Moonlit Floor" arrived just days before its official digital release on October 3, 2024, serving as the third single from her debut studio album Alter Ego. This nu-disco and dance-pop number followed the massive success of "Rockstar" and "New Woman," continuing her push into global mainstream markets through her own imprint Lloud in partnership with RCA Records.

The song's creation began at Chalice Studios in Los Angeles when producer Rykeyz started playing a Roland Juno-106 synthesizer. Songwriter Jessie Reyez immediately began crafting lyrics around the melody. When the team felt the chorus needed a specific lift, Rykeyz jokingly sang the line from Sixpence None the Richer's 1997 hit "Kiss Me." Reyez adapted this into a reference about a romance in Paris, leading Matt Slocum, the original writer of "Kiss Me," to receive a co-writing credit for his contribution to the melody.

Lyrics describe a romantic encounter with a green-eyed French boy, a narrative widely interpreted by fans and media to be about Frédéric Arnault, the CEO of LVMH Watches. Critics praised the track for blending retro 90s pop sensibilities with modern K-pop production, noting how it successfully modernized the classic melody while maintaining its charm. The song runs 2 minutes and 35 seconds and features upbeat tempos with synth-heavy instrumentation and disco-influenced basslines. [تعديل]
